Job Title: Petrel Plugin Team Lead
Duration: Contract
Workload: Full time hours
Setup: Freelance (Daily Rate / Limited Company / Umbrella / Sole Trader)
Location: Remote / Hybrid (TBC)
We are seeking an experienced Petrel Plugin Team Lead to lead the delivery of software solutions within an Oil & Gas upstream subsurface evaluation environment, combining technical leadership with hands-on development expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of 6-7 developers, driving technical excellence and professional growth.
- Oversee end-to-end delivery of Petrel plugin enhancements and new functionality.
- Design, develop, and maintain desktop applications and plugins using C#,.NET, and WPF.
- Collaborate closely with Product Owners to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Resolve technical challenges, ensure application stability, and maintain high customer satisfaction.
- Drive Agile delivery practices, supporting iterative development and continuous improvement.
- Perform code reviews and promote development best practices across the team.

Must-Have Skills:
- 10+ years of commercial software development experience.
- Strong expertise in C#,.NET, and WPF desktop application development.
- Proven experience developing Petrel Plugins (SLB/Schlumberger ecosystem preferred).
- Strong understanding of the Oil & Gas Upstream domain, particularly subsurface evaluation.
- Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring, and managing technical teams.
- Experience delivering projects within Agile environments.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Nice-to-Have:
- Experience working with specialised subsurface data formats.
- Knowledge of geological modelling software.
- Advanced understanding of the SLB (Schlumberger) software ecosystem.
