Role Description

The Team Lead is a full-time, on-site role based in Glasgow, responsible for overseeing daily operations within a branch or team and ensuring high-quality member service. This role includes:

  • Supervising and supporting team members
  • Coordinating workloads
  • Monitoring performance to meet service and compliance standards

  • Resolving escalated queries
  • Ensuring accurate documentation

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Implementing policies and procedures
  • Supporting staff training and development
  • Contributing to process improvements
  • Collaborating with management on targets and reporting

The role requires a hands-on approach, regular interaction with members, and active participation in maintaining an ethical and inclusive workplace.

Qualifications

  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience supervising or guiding a team in a customer-focused environment.
  • Proficiency in customer service and communication, including the ability to handle complex or sensitive member queries with empathy and professionalism.
  • Sound organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, coordinate workflows, and meet deadlines.
  • Basic financial services or banking knowledge, including understanding of savings, loans, and responsible lending practices.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in completing documentation, processing transactions, and following compliance procedures.
  • Comfort with using office software and member management systems; ability to learn new digital tools as required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, contribute to team goals, and support an inclusive and respectful work environment.
  • Previous experience in a credit union, financial services, or community-focused organization is beneficial.
  • Relevant education or training in finance, business, or a related field is an advantage, though equivalent experience will be considered.
