About the Role
This is a newly established UK leadership role, supporting the London Cabin Crew operation. The Team Leader Aircrew Scheduler will lead the day-to-day management and governance of the QCCUK Scheduling function, acting as the local point of escalation and as the conduit between London, QCCUK leadership and Crewing Operations and the IOC in Sydney.
The role has been created to provide local leadership and support the continued development of the UK Scheduling function. You will be responsible for strengthening processes, improving documentation and knowledge sharing, and building strong working relationships across London and Sydney to support safe, compliant and efficient crew operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching and direction to Aircrew Schedulers and crew-to-ground support resources, helping build a high-performing and engaged team.
- Act as the first point of escalation for UK scheduling and day-of-operations issues, supporting safe and efficient operational decision making in consultation with relevant stakeholders.
- Oversee the team responsible for short-term operational scheduling requirements, including roster administration, open time, standby and resource allocation activity, ensuring decisions balance safety, compliance, crew experience and operational performance.
- Strengthen local scheduling standards by documenting processes, developing and maintaining SOPs and ensuring effective document control for work practices, manuals and relevant local procedures.
- Build constructive, credible relationships with QCCUK leaders, Sydney Crewing Operations, IOC teams and broader Qantas Group stakeholders, improving information flow and stakeholder confidence.
- Support payroll-related scheduling processes, annual leave allocation, regional reporting and other non-standard or specialist activities that require continuity and local expertise.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, system enhancements and better ways of working, ensuring changes are implemented with consultation and appropriate governance.
- Lead team performance, development, recruitment and onboarding activity, setting clear expectations and modelling Qantas Group values.

About You
You are a calm, credible and self-aware leader who knows how to establish strong working relationships within an experienced team. You value existing knowledge and experience, while bringing confidence and judgement to strengthen processes, enhance collaboration, create alignment with operational stakeholders, and support continuous improvement.
You will be comfortable understanding the detail when required, while maintaining a broader leadership focus on governance, team performance, stakeholder engagement and operational excellence.
- Experience in scheduling, crewing operations, resource planning, airline operations or a similarly regulated operational environment.
- Proven leadership experience, with the ability to coach, develop and support team members while creating an inclusive and high-performing culture.
- Strong process management skills, including the ability to document procedures, identify gaps and establish practical, compliant and sustainable ways of working.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to build trusted relationships and influence outcomes across teams, functions and time zones.
- Strong operational judgement and the ability to make effective decisions in time-critical, complex, or ambiguous situations.
- The confidence to lead change, establish credibility and respectfully challenge existing practices where improvements can be made.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate operational knowledge into clear, repeatable, and well-documented processes.
- A calm, resilient and adaptable approach, with the flexibility to support a global operation and respond effectively to operational priorities when required.
