Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist looking for your next leadership challenge?
We are seeking an enthusiastic, forward-thinking and motivated Occupational Therapist to lead our Acute Medical Occupational Therapy Team at East Surrey Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to join our department at a time of significant development and transformation, helping to shape services that support timely assessment, rehabilitation and discharge planning for patients across our acute medical pathways.
As Team Lead, you will provide clinical, operational and professional leadership to a highly skilled team delivering services across Acute Medical wards. Working closely with multidisciplinary colleagues, you will drive innovation, support service improvement and ensure patients receive high-quality, patient-centred care.
The Post Holder Will
- Provide clinical and operational leadership for the Acute Medical Occupational Therapy Team.
- Manage and develop a team of Occupational Therapists, Therapy Support Workers, Technical Instructors and students.
- Deliver expert clinical assessment and intervention for patients with complex needs.
- Support safe and efficient patient flow through early assessment, rehabilitation and discharge planning.
- Lead on service development, quality improvement, audit and governance initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary and cross-organisational partners.
- Support staff wellbeing, professional development and performance management.
- Contribute to strategic planning and service redesign across therapy services.

Emergency and non-emergency services to the residents of East Surrey, North-East West Sussex, and South Croydon, including the major towns of Crawley, Horsham, Reigate, and Redhill; a community of over 535,000 people. We provide acute and complex services and a range of outpatient, diagnostic services whilst Crawley Hospital and Horsham in West Sussex and Caterham Dene Hospital and Oxted Health Centre in Surrey provide less complex planned services. In 2019, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) rated our services as ‘Outstanding’ and we are one of the best performing Trusts in England.
