Please note – this is a fully remote, part-time, voluntary, unpaid position. Hours can be worked on a fully flexible basis, including evenings and weekends, from 5 to 7 hours per week, TBC at interview. Role must be based remotely in any region
The International Youth Federation is an international non-profit youth organization network governed by its Statutes. It is politically neutral, non-denominational, and committed to empowering youth worldwide.
The Bureau of External Relations leads IYF’s engagement with external stakeholders, including governments, international organizations, donors, foundations, civil society, private sector partners, academic institutions, and other strategic actors.
The Team Lead, Resource Mobilization, Donor Reporting & Accountability will lead IYF’s efforts to strengthen donor engagement, funding pipeline development, proposal coordination, and donor accountability within the Bureau of External Relations.
The role is responsible for building a structured resource mobilization function that helps IYF identify funding opportunities, prepare high-quality donor materials, coordinate proposals, track donor relationships, and ensure timely and professional donor reporting.
This is a strategic and hands-on role. The successful candidate will help establish the systems, tools, and working practices needed to move IYF from ad hoc fundraising toward a more coordinated, intelligence-led, and accountable approach to donor engagement.
Responsibilities:
(A) Resource Mobilization and Donor Intelligence
- Provides support to the BER, IYF leadership, Regional Administrations and Country Teams on donor mobilization, fundraising, resource development and donor relations matters.
- Identifies, maps and tracks potential donors, including foundations, bilateral and multilateral agencies, private sector partners, philanthropic institutions, corporate social responsibility programs and individual giving opportunities.
- Supports the preparation of donor engagement materials, including concept notes, funding proposals, donor briefs, presentations, partnership profiles and resource mobilization reports.
- Develops and maintains professional relationships with existing and prospective donors, funding partners and relevant external stakeholders.
- Supports the development of innovative fundraising approaches aligned with IYF’s donor intelligence strategy, IYF’s mission, programmes and youth empowerment priorities.
- Drives the organization of donor meetings, fundraising campaigns, pitch sessions and strategic engagement opportunities.
- Monitors donor priorities, funding trends and grant opportunities relevant to youth empowerment, education, leadership, entrepreneurship, gender equality, civic engagement, sustainable development and related areas.
- Works with programme teams to gather project information, impact stories, data and evidence needed for funding proposals and donor communications.
- Leads the development and maintenance of IYF’s donor intelligence system, ensuring funding opportunities, donor priorities, contacts, eligibility requirements and decision cycles are clearly tracked.

(B) Donor Reporting and Accountability
- Leads the coordination of donor reporting and accountability processes for grants, funding agreements and donor-supported initiatives.
- Develops and maintains a donor reporting calendar, tracking reporting deadlines, donor requirements, deliverables and responsible internal contributors.
- Coordinates with programme, finance, communications, regional and country teams to gather narrative, financial, results and impact information required for donor reports.
- Supports the preparation of high-quality donor reports, impact updates, accountability briefs and funding progress summaries.
- Ensures donor reports are timely, accurate, professional and aligned with donor requirements, grant agreements and IYF’s institutional standards.
- Helps translate programme results, evidence and impact stories into clear donor-facing narratives that strengthen donor confidence and future engagement.
- Tracks donor commitments and reporting obligations from the proposal stage through implementation and post-award reporting.
- Supports the development of reporting templates, results frameworks and internal guidance to strengthen IYF’s donor accountability practices
(C) Management and Coordination Support
- Supports the coordination and implementation of IYF’s donor mobilization and resource development strategy.
- Maintains and regularly updates a donor pipeline, fundraising tracker and database of donor contacts, opportunities, submissions and follow-up actions.
- Coordinates with regional focal points and country teams to identify funding needs, priority projects and donor engagement opportunities.
- Supports internal coordination between external relations, communications, programs and finance teams to ensure donor requirements are understood and addressed.
- Assists in preparing periodic updates for leadership on fundraising progress, donor engagement and resource mobilization results.

Eligibility
- High interest in youth empowerment, sustainable development and international cooperation issues.
- Relevant experience or demonstrated interest in donor mobilization, fundraising, partnerships, communications, international development or nonprofit management is required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Ability to work in a voluntary, youth-led or international organizational environment is desirable.
Assessment
Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise, review of written work, interview and/or practical task related to donor mapping, proposal development or fundraising communication.
