Band 7 Team Lead & Specialist Pelvic Health Physiotherapist

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Band 7 Team Lead & Specialist Pelvic Health Physiotherapist to lead and develop our Pelvic Health Physiotherapy Service across Dorset.

This is an exciting opportunity to combine enhanced specialist clinical practice with team leadership. The post holder will provide expert assessment and treatment for patients with complex pelvic health conditions across perinatal, urogynaecology, gynaecology, colorectal, and urology pathways, while leading, supervising, and developing the Pelvic Health Physiotherapy workforce.

Working closely with multidisciplinary colleagues across primary and secondary care, you will drive service development, quality improvement, education, and clinical governance, ensuring the delivery of safe, evidence-based, and patient-centred care. The role is pivotal in supporting the ongoing development of pelvic health services and improving outcomes for women and people with pelvic health conditions across Dorset.

This position is ideal for an experienced pelvic health physiotherapist who is passionate about leadership, service development, and delivering high-quality specialist care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert assessment and treatment for patients with complex pelvic health conditions.
  • Lead, supervise, and develop the Pelvic Health Physiotherapy workforce.
  • Drive service development, quality improvement, education, and clinical governance.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary colleagues across primary and secondary care.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years post-graduate clinical experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years specialist Pelvic Health related Band 6 experience.
  • HCPC registration.

Additional Information:

  • Liaising closely with GPs, Secondary Care Consultants, and other Clinical Leads.
  • Leadership responsibility for Band 6 and 5 Physiotherapists, Apprentices, and coordinating Undergraduate students.
  • Leading and contributing to departmental teaching, service improvement initiatives, audit, and continuous professional development activities.
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to prioritize a caseload of complex patients, supervisory skills, and excellent time management and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate sound clinical skills working as an effective team player within a Pelvic Health service.

  • UKVI Sponsorship: This role is eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route, as defined by UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI).
  • Enhancing development of the Pelvic Health Physiotherapy team is a key part of the role.
  • We strongly support professional development and manage to support most Band 7 Physiotherapists to do master's level study.
  • Regular supervision with the Head of Physiotherapy to ensure full support in establishing the lead role.
