Your New Role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Team Leader to join our vibrant, inclusive community that celebrates our differences and makes a real impact across the UK. This role will be carried out on site in Stafford (ST16 2DH).

What will the role offer?

Working at Amey puts you at the centre of an inspiring expert team. You will have opportunities to work with our Staffordshire County Council team by coordinating day-to-day maintenance operations and managing resources efficiently.

The standard hours of work are 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday.

What you will be doing:

  • Lead, motivate and develop a team of Operational Control Room colleagues
  • Maintain high technical standards and oversee project briefings
  • Ensure team and public safety in compliance with health and safety legislation
  • Monitor team performance against contractual KPIs, SLAs, and operational targets
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability
  • Liaise with various stakeholders, manage records, and complete necessary documentation
  • Coordinate day-to-day maintenance operations and manage resources efficiently
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships across the contract.
  • Analyse operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
  • Conduct regular one-to-one meetings, performance reviews, and team briefings

  • Experience leading or supervising a customer service, control room, operations centre, or highways operations team.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Self-motivated and proactive in terms of delivering solutions
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and make informed decisions under pressure
  • Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting performance data and producing reports
