F&B Retail Shift Lead (Starbucks)

We have a fantastic opening for a F&B Retail Shift Lead to join our Starbucks Team.
NEC you will be working at the UK's largest event space and number one exhibition venue. Home to your favorite shows and voted the AEO venue of the year 4 times, we host over 500 events each year, welcoming 2.3 million visitors and over 45,000 exhibiting companies!
About The Role
This role is responsible for overseeing the store during assigned shifts, ensuring smooth operations and compliance with Starbucks and NEC Group standards. This includes maintaining food safety, health and safety, and brand guidelines while delivering exceptional customer service. The role champions company values and behaviors to support the Retail Lead in driving business performance and profitability. Additionally, the Shift Lead provides leadership, coaching, and real-time support to the barista team, fostering a positive and high-performing work environment.
Day to day you will:
- Attend monthly meetings with F&B Retail Leads, cascade brand updates, and conduct effective team briefings and handovers.
- Complete daily shift planner, diary entries, pest checks, and ensure the business area meets brand standards for opening and closing.
- Manage F&B orders based on show performance and perform daily inventory tasks (staff meals, transfers, waste, credits).
- Track daily revenue, monitor performance, report absences, and manage staffing levels to align labour costs with revenue.
- Promote Starbucks values, coach partners on brand standards, carry out cleaning tasks, and assist with ad hoc duties as needed.
- Complete store audit/food safety audit once a week.

About You
Our Ideal Candidate will have:
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced retail or hospitality environment.
- Strong understanding of operational standards, including food safety and health & safety compliance.
- Excellent communication and coaching skills to support team development.
- Ability to manage inventory, revenue tracking, and labour cost alignment.
- Problem-solving skills and adaptability to respond to changing business needs.
- Experience in maintaining brand standards and delivering exceptional customer service.
- Competence in administrative tasks such as shift planning, reporting, and record-keeping.
