Role Overview
As a Team Leader, you will lead a team to ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of manufacturing and operational activities within a designated area. You will coordinate daily operations, support employee development, and work with cross-functional teams to achieve safety, quality, production, and performance objectives.
You will play a key role in maintaining high operational standards, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring all activities are delivered in line with company policies, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.
The Team Leader position is based within our PWR (Pressurized Water Reactor) manufacturing facility at Springfields Fuel Site and follows a double day shift pattern, alternating between 07:00-15:00 and 15:00-23:00.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily operational activities to ensure safe and efficient plant performance.
- Promote a safety culture and ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Issue and manage appropriate safety documentation within the assigned responsibilities.
- Monitor operational performance and address safety, quality, or production issues.
- Conduct or support investigations into operational, safety, and quality-related incidents and implement corrective actions.
- Provide technical guidance and daily support to team members.
- Allocate work, set priorities, and ensure resources are available to meet production requirements and performance targets.
- Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and other stakeholders to support our goals.
- Monitor team performance and support employee development through coaching, training, and knowledge sharing.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, and operational performance through continuous improvement activities.
- Ensure services are delivered to internal and external customers following agreed standards and expectations.
- Support budget management by working within departmental cost and resource goals.

Qualifications
- Recognised apprenticeship, BTEC, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent technical qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or a related discipline.
- Typically, a minimum of 5 years' experience in a manufacturing, production, industrial, or operational environment.
- Experience supervising teams and coordinating operational activities to achieve safety, quality, and production goals.
- Knowledge of health, safety, quality, and regulatory requirements within an operational environment.
- Experience working collaboratively with teams and stakeholders.
