Team Leader Residential Children's Care

Ribchester, Lancashire

£15.88 per hour

Full time - 42 hours per week | TEMP TO PERM

Meridian Business Support are recruiting for a Team Leader to join a residential children's service in Ribchester on a temp to perm basis. This is a hands-on role offering the opportunity to lead a care team, build experience in a specialist setting, and secure a permanent position.

This role would suit an experienced Senior Support Worker or existing Team Leader looking to step into a structured leadership position within children's residential care.

Job Role

As a Team Leader, you will take responsibility for leading shifts and maintaining a safe, supportive environment:

  • Lead and motivate a team of care staff to deliver high-quality, person-centred support
  • Ensure the safety, wellbeing, and safeguarding of young people at all times
  • Supervise staff performance through coaching, probation reviews, and appraisals
  • Monitor and audit care practices to ensure compliance with Children's Home Regulations and Quality Standards
  • Support the planning and delivery of activities tailored to individual needs
  • Promote positive behaviour support and encourage development and independence

Skills and Experience

We are looking for a confident and experienced care professional:

  • Level 3 RQF in Child and Young People's Workforce (or equivalent) is essential
  • Experience in a senior or supervisory role within residential care or children's services
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, autism, learning disabilities, and behaviours that challenge
  • Ability to lead a team and support the development of good practice

You will be working within a specialist residential setting supporting young people aged 8 to 18 with autism and complex needs, in a rural location with access to outdoor activities and creative learning opportunities.
