Starting Salary: £35,570 progressing to £38,510 per annum

Hours: 37

Location: Hemel Hempstead

Contract Type: Permanent

Directorate: Adult Care Services

About The Team

The people who live at Elara House and Dacorum Group Homes Supported Living have full and varied lives but also need day-to-day support as they have learning, or other, disabilities. We support and empower up to 27 people across 5 sites and 6 people who live independently and we offer community support; we support all individuals to live as independently as possible.

About The Role

As a team leader, you’ll oversee the work of the whole team and ensure they deliver high-quality support to people using our service, working in partnership with other professionals and agencies. Direct support shifts will be undertaken as part of the induction process and if needed from time to time which will enable you to both observe practice, and coach and mentor the team.

Responsibilities includes formal supervision of staff, administering medication, assistance with rota planning, support with training and sickness management, and take on a key role, such as health and safety co-ordinator, or medication co-ordinator.

Flexibility is required to meet the needs of the service. This role does not routinely require working Bank holidays or weekends. However, where a weekend day is worked, a day off in lieu will be provided during the week.

Waking night checks will also need to be completed on a small number of occasions throughout the year.

A key aspect of the role is promoting good practice and consistently high standards of support through the provision of formal supervision to nominated junior staff, in line with organisational policies and procedures.

Participation in the continuous improvement of service quality is essential, including developing robust support plans, ensuring their effective implementation and regular review, and completing audit processes aimed at enhancing the experience of the people we support.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
