Team Leader - Adults Social Care

Location: Wolverhampton
Employment Type: Full-time

We are looking for a Team Leader to provide day-to-day leadership within an adult social care service.

This role would suit someone ready to step into a leadership position, supporting staff on shift and helping deliver safe, consistent and person-centred care to adults with care and support needs. You will work closely with the Deputy Manager and Registered Manager, supporting Residential Support Workers, leading by example and helping maintain a calm, positive and high-quality care environment.

The role will involve:

  • Leading shifts as the senior member of staff on duty
  • Supporting, mentoring and guiding Residential Support Workers
  • Ensuring safe staffing practices and effective shift handovers
  • Supporting new staff during induction
  • Delivering person-centred care that promotes dignity and independence
  • Supporting individuals with daily living, personal care, health needs and social inclusion
  • Promoting a strong safeguarding culture
  • Ensuring care plans, risk assessments and support strategies are followed
  • Completing accurate records and contributing to care reviews
  • Building positive relationships with families, advocates and healthcare professionals

We are looking for someone with:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care, or equivalent
  • Experience in residential care or supported living
  • Experience supporting adults with care and support needs
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to lead shifts and support staff effectively
  • Calm, resilient and confident decision-making
  • Professional, reliable and flexible approach
  • Commitment to safeguarding and high-quality care

Desirable experience:

  • Previous Team Leader or senior support role
  • Working towards, or willing to complete, a Level 5 leadership qualification
  • Experience supporting individuals with complex needs
  • Experience mentoring or supervising staff
  • Knowledge of CQC fundamental standards
  • Understanding of the Mental Capacity Act and DoLS
  • Full UK driving licence
