Join a Leading Aerospace Manufacturer

Our client is a leading aerospace manufacturer specialising in the design and production of safety-critical fuel systems and fuel tank solutions for both commercial and defence aerospace applications. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Team Leader to join their manufacturing operation in Portsmouth.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proven leader to take responsibility for a skilled production team, driving performance, quality and delivery within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The Role

As Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading a team of approximately 15-20 operatives, ensuring production targets are achieved whilst maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and efficiency. You will play a key role in developing a positive, high-performing culture focused on continuous improvement and right-first-time manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach and develop a team of 15-20 employees.
  • Promote a strong right-first-time manufacturing culture.
  • Monitor and achieve key operational KPIs including quality, productivity and delivery.
  • Manage team attendance, holidays and absence.
  • Support employee training, development and performance management.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the department.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety and quality procedures.
  • Act as the first point of contact for day-to-day operational challenges.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will be a confident and engaging leader with a proven ability to motivate teams and deliver results.

Essential Experience

  • Previous experience in a Team Leader, Supervisor or similar leadership position.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making capability.
  • Highly organised and target-driven approach.
  • Ability to motivate, influence and engage team members.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience within an aerospace, manufacturing, engineering or production environment.
  • Competent user of Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Experience managing production trackers and manufacturing documentation.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong emotional intelligence and influencing skills.

Qualifications

  • A-Levels, BTEC National Diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous Supervisory Or Team Leadership Experience Is Essential.
  • Manufacturing background preferred.

Working Pattern

The business operates a highly attractive 9-day fortnight, giving employees every other Friday off.

Shift Options Include

  • 07:30 - 16:15 Monday to Thursday, 07:30 - 16:00 Friday
  • 06:00 - 14:45 Monday to Thursday, 06:00 - 14:45 Friday
