Chesterfield Borough Council is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Team Leader - Business Support & Research to join our Housing Assets team.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a dedicated business support and research team that plays a vital role in providing accurate asset management information, coordinating appointments, supporting housing investment programmes, and ensuring excellent customer service for our tenants.

About The Role

Reporting to the Housing Assets Manager, you will be responsible for leading and developing a team of Business Support & Research Assistants. You will oversee the management of asset management databases and ICT systems, ensure the production of accurate reports and performance information, and support the delivery of key housing asset programmes.

You will also act as a key liaison between tenants, contractors, council departments, and Housing Assets colleagues to ensure the smooth and efficient delivery of services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise and support the Business Support & Research team.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of housing asset management data and systems.
  • Produce and analyse reports, statistics and performance information.
  • Manage appointments and diary scheduling for Asset Management Officers.
  • Oversee service enquiries, customer communications and shared inbox management.
  • Support the delivery of stock condition surveys, EPC programmes and Decent Homes reporting.
  • Monitor financial processes including purchase orders, payments and budget records.
  • Coordinate administrative and business support functions across the Housing Assets Service.
  • Contribute to service improvement initiatives and research projects.

About You

You will have:

  • Experience of leading or supervising a team.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong IT and data management experience, including working with databases and reporting systems.
  • The ability to analyse information and produce accurate reports.
  • Experience of managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and delivering high-quality services
