Team Leader / Care Supervisor – Domiciliary Care
Location: Berkshire and surrounding areas
Role: Full-time
Care & Administration: 60% Client Care / 40% Team Leader & Administrative Duties
Driving: Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle required
About Aptine Care Services:
Aptine Care Services is a nurse-led domiciliary care provider committed to delivering safe, compassionate and person-centred care in people’s own homes.
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Carer to progress into a Team Leader/Supervisor role, combining hands-on care with leadership, staff support and administrative responsibilities. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about care and wants to develop their career while making a real difference to clients and the care team.
The Role:
As a Team Leader/Care Supervisor, approximately 60% of your role will involve direct patient/client care, with the remaining 40% dedicated to leadership, supervision and administrative duties.
You will act as a positive role model for our carers, helping to maintain high standards of care, supporting staff in the field and ensuring clients receive safe, dignified and person-centred support.
Key Responsibilities:
60% – Direct Care Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, person-centred care to clients in their own homes.
- Support clients with personal care, mobility, continence care, nutrition and other daily living needs.
- Administer and support medication in line with training, care plans and company procedures.
- Provide appropriate support for clients with dementia, complex care needs and changing health conditions.
- Complete accurate daily care records and report any changes or concerns promptly.
- Promote dignity, independence, choice and safeguarding at all times.
- Follow individual care plans, risk assessments and moving and handling procedures.
- Support new carers in developing safe and effective care practices.

40% – Team Leader & Administration
- Coordinate and support the care team to ensure visits are completed safely and effectively.
- Provide day-to-day guidance and supervision to carers.
- Carry out care observations, spot checks and quality monitoring visits.
- Support the induction, training and competency development of new staff.
- Assist with staff schedules, rota coordination and covering care calls when required.
- Monitor care documentation and ensure records are completed accurately.
- Escalate safeguarding, medication, health and safety and care concerns appropriately.
- Liaise professionally with clients, relatives, healthcare professionals and management.
- Attend and contribute to team meetings and staff debriefs.
- Support the Registered Manager with audits, compliance and quality improvement.
- Help ensure Aptine continues to meet CQC standards and company policies.
- Promote a positive culture of teamwork, accountability and compassionate care.
What We Are Looking For:
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working in domiciliary care or a similar health and social care setting.
- Has strong practical care experience and understands person-centred care.
- Is confident supporting and guiding other carers.
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Can work independently and use initiative.
- Is organised and able to manage competing priorities.
- Has good written and spoken English.
- Is confident completing care records and basic administrative tasks.
- Has a professional, reliable and positive attitude.
- Is committed to safeguarding, dignity, confidentiality and high-quality care.
- Has a full UK driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Is willing to undertake further training and professional development.

Previous Team Leader or supervisory experience is desirable, but we are also keen to hear from experienced carers who are ready to take the next step in their career.
