Team Leader – Children’s Residential Care

Location: Handsworth, Birmingham
Salary: £16.00–£16.50 per hour, dependent on qualifications and experience
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Shift Pattern: 2 days on / 4 days off
Start Date: Immediate starts available
We are working with an established children’s residential care provider with a strong and consistent track record, currently operating Ofsted-rated Good homes and continuing to develop their services.
Their existing homes support young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), with a new home for EBD and Learning Disabilities (LD) currently progressing through registration.
They are now looking for experienced Team Leaders to join their existing services, with the opportunity for successful candidates to potentially transition into the new home as it opens.
The Role
As a Team Leader, you will provide strong day-to-day leadership within the home, supporting the Manager to ensure young people receive consistently high-quality care.

You will lead by example, support and guide Residential Support Workers and Senior Support Workers, and help maintain a safe, structured and nurturing environment for the young people.
The provider is particularly keen to speak with candidates who have experience in therapeutic settings, as this aligns closely with their approach to care.
About You
- Previous experience working within a residential children’s home
- Relevant Level 3 or Level 4 qualification specific to residential childcare
- Experience working in a senior or leadership capacity
- Strong understanding of the needs of young people in residential care
- EBD experience would be beneficial
- Previous therapeutic care experience would be highly desirable
- Confident leading and supporting a team
- Positive, resilient and child-focused approach
- Full right to work in the UK
- A full driving licence would be beneficial

- 1 sleep-in per week, with a dedicated waking-night team in place
- Full-team training and bonding every other Wednesday
