Role Overview
As our Data Validation Team Leader, you’ll play an important role in ensuring operational and customer data is accurate, complete and maintained to the highest standards. You’ll lead and develop a team of Data Validators, ensuring workloads are effectively managed, service levels are achieved and quality remains at the heart of everything the team delivers. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys combining people leadership with data and operational delivery. You’ll work closely with operational and client teams, helping to resolve data quality issues, improve processes and ensure the team continues to deliver an accurate and efficient service. This is an office-based role, working from our Bootle office.
Responsibilities
As a Data Validation Team Leader, you’ll lead and develop a team of Data Validators, ensuring high standards of accuracy, quality and operational performance. You’ll manage day-to-day workloads and priorities, making sure deadlines and service levels are met while creating a supportive environment where your team can develop and succeed.
You’ll oversee the validation, cleansing and maintenance of operational and customer data, ensuring agreed standards and procedures are followed consistently. You’ll also act as an escalation point for more complex data discrepancies, helping to resolve issues and identify opportunities to prevent them from happening again. You’ll be responsible for:

- Leading, coaching and developing a team of Data Validators, including regular one-to-ones and development conversations
- Managing workloads and priorities to ensure service levels, quality standards and deadlines are achieved
- Overseeing data validation, cleansing and maintenance activities across operational and customer data
- Monitoring data accuracy, completeness and compliance through regular checks and reconciliations
- Investigating and resolving complex data issues and supporting improvements that prevent recurring problems
- Tracking and reporting against KPIs, SLAs and quality measures
- Building strong relationships with operational and client teams to resolve issues and improve ways of working
- Ensuring appropriate controls, documentation and audit trails are maintained in line with data protection and compliance requirements.
Requirements
We’re looking for someone who enjoys working with both people and data, with the confidence to lead a team while maintaining excellent standards of accuracy and delivery. You’ll bring:
- Proven experience within data validation, data quality or operational data management
- Experience within Smart Metering, Utilities or another regulated industry
- Experience leading or supervising a team
- Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail
- Experience managing workloads, priorities and performance measures
- Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and data systems
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- An understanding of data protection regulations and compliance standards
It would be great if you have:
- Knowledge of Smart Meter technology and its applications
- Knowledge of data governance frameworks and compliance requirements
- Experience supporting system migrations or process transformation initiatives
