Montpellier Low Secure Recovery Unit

Montpellier Low Secure Recovery Unit is a forensic 12 bed all male ward for patients with enduring mental illness who are detained under the Mental Health Act 1983.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated individual to lead a multi-disciplinary team with an ability to plan, implement and audit a range of activities, interventions and initiatives for service users with a serious and enduring mental illness. The Engagement, Activity & Physical Health (EAP) agenda is an integral part of service user’s recovery on the Montpellier Unit. The main goals of the agenda are to help maintain and increase service user’s level of functioning, promote social inclusion, support prevention of physical health problems developing alongside promoting good health and wellbeing and reducing restrictive practice.

You will be working as part of the EAP team as well as working alongside a multi-disciplinary team & other health and social care professionals.

Role Purpose

  • To be responsible for the operational management of the Engagement Activity and Physical Health therapy department.
  • To provide leadership, appraisal and supervision to other staff within the team and act as a focal point for problem solving and maintaining clinical standards.
  • To assist the Unit Manager with the development and provision of services, primarily in the clinical operational management and development of the EAP team.
  • To provide physical health assessment and treatment in in-patient settings according to local and national policy.
