About the Role

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced property lawyer to join our well-respected in-house legal team to lead on all legal aspects of property, housing, and regeneration work in connection with the Council’s services.

Following the recent Local Government Reorganisation for Oxfordshire announcement, this is an exciting time to join the Law, Governance and Strategy Directorate as we work towards the formation of a new unitary authority for Greater Oxford. Operating at the heart of Oxford City Council, the directorate is responsible for the democratic and political management arrangements of the authority, including the conduct of elections and the provision of a full and varied range of legal services.

Key Responsibilities

LGR brings a range of exciting opportunities to be part of shaping the future unitary authorities for Oxford city and surrounding areas, and as a member of the service’s management team, you will play a key role in both the directorate and wider organisation.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
