Job Description

This hands-on role is responsible for leading and managing an operational team through all facets of the Manufacturing & Returns process within the warehouse function. The foundation of the role is to ensure all Health & Safety criteria is adhered to in terms of policies, RAMs and the correct utilisation of MHE to ensure team and environment safety.

  • Ensure the works order plan and works order requirements raised by the supply chain team are processed in accordance with demand.
  • Review team capacity, ensuring that labour provision matches demand to meet the operational requirement and ensure all products are reworked, manufactured and kitted in accordance to the OTIF KPI targets.
  • Liaise closely with the goods in and replenishment team to ensure that inventory supply and locations are fully replenished to maximise order processing efficiency.
  • Lead the end-to-end returns process, supporting the team with operational and system enquiries.
  • Ensure that the de-gas and reclaim process is completed in accordance to the SOP.
  • Ensure the relevant product quality check requirements are carried out on inbound goods.
  • Across all functions, ensure that all stock transfers into the relevant sub-warehouses are carried out and that system transactions reflect manufactured consumption.
  • Liaise with stakeholders as required to manage any exceptions or discrepancies and ensure completed goods are added to the warehouse MAIN inventory through the WMS system.
  • Be part of the team responsible for stock investigations and operational inventory management, as required.
  • Contribute to and lead Daily Operational team meetings, as required.

As team leader, you will be part of a team that scopes and drives continuous improvement across all facets of the distribution centre function.

Requirements

Ensure all activities on the mezzanine floors meet the required Health & Safety requirements for team, environment, and equipment.

Refurbishment - Tanks and Command Centres

  • Ensure there is sufficient labour provision to carry out the works order plan to meet operational demand and ensure all products are reworked in accordance to the SOP and OTIF KPI targets.
  • Ensure consumables and packaging is fully stocked and replenished and liaise with supply chain team for ordering requirements.
  • Ensure rework requirements raised by the supply chain team are processed in accordance with demand.

Kitting

  • Lead the manufacturing of kitting via the works order creation by the supply chain team.
  • Label, sort, and put away goods into appropriate storage locations following company procedures and following strict GTIN schedule.
  • Review team capacity, ensuring that labour provision matches demand to meet the operational requirement and ensure all products are manufactured in accordance to the SOP and OTIF KPI targets.

Returns

  • Lead the end-to-end returns process, supporting the team with operational and system enquiries.
  • Any escalations for customer enquiries are dealt with quickly and accurately.
  • Van stock queries are dealt with via the supply chain administration team.
  • Pending decision is worked daily to ensure premium customer experience.
  • Ensure that all de-gas of CO2 canisters is completed in accordance to the SOP and KPI requirements.
  • Ensure that reclaim of refrigerant on products is completed in accordance to the SOP and KPI requirements.
  • Ensure the relevant product quality check requirements are carried out on inbound goods.
  • Safe disposal of engineers/customer returns.

  • Lead the rework of products being processed from the returns department.
  • Label, sort, and put away goods into appropriate storage locations following company procedures and following strict GTIN schedule.
  • Ensure consumables and packaging is fully stocked and replenished and liaise with supply chain team for ordering requirements.
  • Ensure rework requirements raised by the supply chain team are processed in accordance with demand.

Inventory Replenishment

  • Monitor stock levels in primary manufacturing locations and replenish from MAIN inventory to ensure positive stock holding.
  • Move products using correct MHE to ensure pick faces are fully stocked and ready for rework.
  • Perform location-to-location transfers through the WMS to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Rotate stock as per FIFO requirements checking for damage, expiry dates, or quality issues during replenishment.
  • Maintain high levels of stock accuracy and report any inventory or location discrepancies.
  • When role is completed, help with general warehousing duties.
  • Ensure team keeps work areas clean, tidy, and organised in line with 5S and Health & Safety standards.
  • Assist with monthly stock counts, cycle counting, and inventory audits when needed.
  • Support the wider warehouse operation during busy periods to meet operational demand, e.g. picking, packing, dispatch.

Other Responsibilities

  • Lead monthly team member reviews and PPMs.
  • Keyholder for the Warehouse site (Tier 1).
  • Support other Warehouse Team Leaders, as required.
  • Rotate Team Leader role through Goods Receipt & Replenishment, Order Processing & Dispatch and Manufacturing & Returns.
  • In accordance with management planning, contribute to the scope and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
