We now have an exciting opportunity for an acknowledged expert in material science or engineering to step up and lead our Materials Engineering team as we develop our Power Units to meet continually evolving regulations and help deliver the most competitive car on the Formula One grid. Responsible for leading a team of specialist scientists, engineers, and technicians this role offers the chance to reshape and redefine the Materials Engineering team as we look further into an exciting and sustainable era of powertrain engineering at the very top of the motorsport world.

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be a recognised authority on material science or engineering, and as well as being expected to mentor the Materials Engineering team will play an important role championing and promoting the selection of appropriate materials, processes, and manufacturing techniques across all engineering functions.
Essential Requirements
- Materials Science or Engineering degree or equivalent qualification
- Proven knowledge and understanding of materials research, development, testing or analysis and its contribution to reliability and performance of mechanical or electrical components or systems
- Proven ability to lead detailed forensic materials investigations into failed components and systems
- Proven experience mentoring colleagues in a high-performance engineering discipline

- Passion for innovation, can-do attitude, and willingness to learn new skills
- Ability to plan and scope projects, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and react to changing priorities while leading a team to meet tight deadlines
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong professional relationships across the Red Bull Technology Campus
