Job Description
Please note this role includes participation in a 7-day a week working rota to support the service. Core hours of service are 9am - 5pm. Flexible working patterns can be discussed at interview.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced paediatric audiologist to join our dynamic team. The post-holder will provide paediatric assessments (in Tier 2 clinics), participate in paediatric hearing aid fitting and review appointments (in Tier 3 clinics) and electrophysiology testing as part of the newborn hearing screening programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide audiological assessment and/or habilitation of children and young people aged 0-18 years.
- Participate in paediatric hearing aid fitting and review appointments.
- Conduct electrophysiology testing as part of the newborn hearing screening programme.
- Responsible for staff training and management.
- Work within a multi-disciplinary team and collaborate with the Clinical Lead for Paediatric Audiology Services.
- Provide clinical audiology services, training, and service development.
- Take forward the modernisation of the service and develop innovative and patient-focused models of care.
- Provide routine and specialist clinical services, primarily in paediatric Audiology and, depending on service needs, in adult audiology.
- Provide training to HTS, BSc students, and members of staff.
- Lead service development for paediatrics.
- Deputise for the Paediatric Audiology Service Lead and Deputy Head of Department when necessary.
- Develop close working relationships with the clinical teams in ENT, the community Audiological teams, and Educational Sensory Support Teams.
