Are you an experienced residential childcare professional ready to take the next step into leadership?

Kites Children’s Services is looking for a Team Leader to help lead the day-to-day running of a residential children’s home in Southend-on-Sea, supporting both the young people in our care and the team around them.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll lead shifts, support staff and continue to work directly with children, helping create a safe, welcoming and positive home where they can thrive.

The Role
Working alongside the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager, you’ll help maintain high standards of care, safeguarding and compliance across the home.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the development, review and implementation of individual care plans
  • Providing guidance and supervision to Residential Support Workers
  • Supporting young people during challenging situations or periods of crisis
  • Maintaining accurate records, incident reports and safeguarding documentation
  • Building positive relationships with families, social workers, schools and other professionals
  • Ensuring policies, risk assessments and Children’s Homes Regulations are followed
  • Supporting staff training, development and professional standards
  • Taking part in the management on-call rota when required

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
