Drive high-impact, multi-agency investigations to keep children safe

We’re seeking a highly motivated and skilled Team Leader to join our Serious Crime Children Investigation Team.

You’ll be leading multi-disciplinary investigations that protect children and vulnerable adults, ensuring that safeguarding referrals and police investigations are managed with professionalism and compassion.

As our Team Leader, you will be responsible for:

  • The assessment and investigative decision making linked to referrals from children’s services, adult safeguarding, and police incidents.
  • Ensuring investigations are delivered effectively, using evidence informed practice and robust multi-agency collaboration.
  • Representing the police at meetings, making decisions using the National Decision Model, gathering, and interpreting information and intelligence to inform safeguarding responses and investigative direction.

This is a rewarding and crucial opportunity to develop a specialist team, influence safeguarding outcomes, and make a meaningful impact on the protection of children and vulnerable adults.

This role is offered as a 12 month fixed term contract.

The must haves

  • The ability to use sound judgement to make confident decisions, in high pressure and complex safeguarding and investigative situations.
  • Knowledge of child and adult safeguarding legislation and statutory guidance.
  • Able to work collaboratively within a team, communicating effectively and confidently.
