Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week
Salary: £32,260 per year
Working Pattern: Monday–Sunday, with flexibility required in line with operational needs

At Brindisa, we are passionate about exceptional Spanish food, wine and culture, and sharing that passion with our customers. We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Team Leader (Speciality Food) – Store Operations to join our retail team at Borough Market.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys leading people, delivering outstanding customer service and taking ownership of day-to-day store operations. You will be a key on-site point of contact, helping to lead the team, maintain high standards and create an engaging and knowledgeable customer experience.

About the Role

You will:

  • Lead and motivate the retail team to deliver excellent customer service and store performance.
  • Coordinate daily shop floor operations, staffing and team priorities.
  • Coach and develop team members through training, guidance and feedback.
  • Maintain high standards of merchandising, product availability, cleanliness and food safety.
  • Support stock management, cash handling and store administration.
  • Drive sales through excellent product knowledge, customer engagement and upselling.
  • Support tastings, events and promotional activities.
  • Act as a key holder and primary point of contact during trading hours.
  • Ensure compliance with company, food safety and health & safety procedures.

About You

We are looking for someone with:

  • Proven team leadership experience in food retail, speciality food, hospitality or a similar environment.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • A genuine passion for food, ideally with an interest in Spanish products and ingredients.
  • Good knowledge of food safety and retail operations.
  • The ability to coach, motivate and develop a diverse team.
  • A hands-on, organised and proactive approach to store operations.
  • Flexibility to work Monday–Sunday, including weekends and holidays as required.
