Job Description
Instron are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Team Leader to join our Transducer production team based at our High Wycombe site. As a Team Leader you will play a key role in ensuring a safe and efficient working environment, driving operational improvements, supporting inventory management activities, and helping to develop colleagues within the production team.
Key Responsibilities
Health, Safety & Workplace Organisation
- Maintain a safe, organised, and efficient work area, ensuring equipment is used only by trained personnel.
- Support stock accuracy, follow PPE and ESD requirements, and uphold high housekeeping and 5S standards.
Team Support & Development
- Promote productive working practices, minimise downtime, and support the ongoing development and training of team members.
Technical Knowledge & Problem Solving
- Assemble, test, and calibrate products to quality standards using approved procedures and documentation.
- Provide technical support, fault-finding expertise, and work closely with Engineering, Quality, Planning, Purchasing, and Service teams.

Customer & Quality Focus
- Help ensure products are delivered on time and to the highest quality standards.
- Proactively communicate and resolve issues that may impact customer delivery, while supporting continuous improvement initiatives and key performance measures.
Administration & Compliance
- Complete performance management tasks, objectives, and departmental administration accurately and on time.
- Follow all health, safety, and compliance requirements, including accident reporting, risk assessments, COSHH regulations, and company procedures.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing and Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering and manufacturing drawings.
- Experience working with electromechanical products and systems.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Good communication skills with the ability to influence and support others.
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
- Commitment to quality, safety and continuous improvement.
- Ability to work flexibly and undertake a wide range of operational tasks.
- Physical capability to safely handle and move mechanical equipment and components.

Experience Required
You will ideally have experience in:
- Assembly and disassembly of mechanical or electromechanical products and machinery.
- Testing, calibration and fault diagnosis of electromechanical equipment.
- Product repair and technical troubleshooting.
Qualifications
While full training will be provided, the following would be advantageous:
- Level 4 qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering or Manufacturing.
Equivalent experience will also be considered.
