Team Leader Role
The Team Leader is responsible for line managing the team of medical secretaries and administrative staff for the Trauma & Orthopaedics and Pain Management department.
Responsibilities
- Support the consultants and their teams in delivering the administrative element of their roles.
- Ensure the specialty clinics and theatres are fully utilized and bookings / escalations are done efficiently and timely.
- Support the Senior Manager in ensuring the Department meets the RTT (Referral to Treatment) and National Performance Targets.
- Prepare and present PTL reports for the weekly PTL Meetings.

Key Duties
- Provide line management to the Medical Secretary workforce within the department, in line with the Trust’s People and Development policies.
- Support the Divisional Managers, lead clinicians, and senior nursing staff to ensure a well-trained workforce can optimize administrative outcomes.
- Identify training needs and maintain training records for the medical secretaries.
- Undertake all relevant Statutory and Mandatory training.
- Maintain accurate attendance/absence records in line with Trust procedures.
