Aon are currently recruiting a Senior Broker/Team Leader to join our US General Liability / Energy team based in London which is part of the Global Broking Centre.

This role will involve co-ordinating and contributing to the marketing and negotiation of casualty business within the Lloyd’s and Company Markets on a day-to-day basis in accordance with Marketing Strategy.

What the day will look like

As a Broker some of your key responsibilities will involve:

  • Provide guidance, coaching and mentoring to team members, assisting with their development and performance improvement.
  • Support your reports in their day-to-day roles.
  • Be a point of escalation for your reports.
  • Set SMART objectives and support completion/achievement.
  • Monthly check ins to ensure objectives are on track.
  • Help set all reports career development plans.
  • Define marketing strategy (specific to placement)
  • Review Submission
  • Lead quote broking / Follow market broking
  • Present terms to client / network
  • Firm Order broking (Ebix / wet stamps / email)
  • Record broking activity in market sheets
  • Review draft / final MRC
  • Send Cover confirmation to client/network
  • Provide benchmarking and placement advice to clients
  • Client meetings
  • Respond to A/C queries
  • Establish and manage pipeline

How this opportunity is different

The US GL / Energy team is comprised of brokers with a high level of experience and excellent reputation within the London market. We handle the placement of general liability and energy liability business emanating from the US.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

As a Broker your skills and qualifications will include:

  • Experience in the London Casualty market (preferably in the US market but International / UK market experience considered)
  • Energy liabilities experience an advantage.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Sound understanding of London insurance market dynamics and core processes.
  • Established relationships within the London market.
  • Excellent technical insurance knowledge from within the London Market.
  • Experience of managing effective client relationships.
  • Previous experience managing and or mentoring team members with regards to development and performance.
  • Ability to interpret and use data effectively.
  • Understanding of compliance and FCA regulations.
