About the Role

At Debenhams Group, our warehouse operation is at the heart of delivering an exceptional customer experience. As a Team Leader, you will be the first point of contact for a team of warehouse operatives, providing day-to-day leadership, support, and direction to ensure operational targets are achieved safely and efficiently.

Reporting to the Shift Manager, you will oversee daily activities, drive team performance, and foster a positive working environment where colleagues can succeed. You will play a key role in promoting a strong health and safety culture while ensuring productivity, quality, and service standards are consistently met.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced people leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys motivating teams to achieve outstanding results.

Working Pattern

  • Sunday - Thursday 07:00 - 15:00

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate, and develop a team of warehouse operatives to achieve operational objectives.
  • Monitor team performance and productivity, ensuring targets set by the Shift Manager are consistently met.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching sessions, and feedback discussions to support colleague development.
  • Promote and maintain a safe working environment, ensuring compliance with all health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate effectively with key operational departments, including Inbound, Outbound, Returns, Stock Control, Health & Safety, and Training.
  • Monitor operational performance through data analysis and reporting, providing regular updates and insights to management.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, productivity, and service delivery.
  • Address operational issues promptly and professionally, escalating where appropriate.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in a supervisory, team leader, or people management role within a warehouse or logistics environment.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Results-focused with the ability to prioritise workloads and manage competing demands.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • A professional and diplomatic approach to handling challenges and resolving issues.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience in analysing performance data and producing reports.
