We are looking for an experienced Practitioner or existing Team Leader to join our team as a Permanent Team Leader, supporting services across HMP The Verne and HMP Portland.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and driven individual who is committed to delivering high-quality services, empowering colleagues, and making a real difference to the lives of those we support.

As Team Leader, you will provide visible and effective leadership across both sites, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and person-centred services. You will play a key role in motivating teams, driving performance, and maintaining excellent standards of care and support.

Location: HMP The Verne & HMP Portland

  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week
  • Contract: Permanent, Full Time

Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Reporting to the Service Manager, you will:

  • Provide day-to-day leadership, guidance, and support to staff across both prison sites.
  • Lead by example, promoting a positive, inclusive, and high-performing team culture.
  • Ensure services are delivered safely, effectively, and in line with organisational policies, contractual requirements, and best practice.
  • Support staff development through coaching, supervision, and performance management.
  • Monitor performance, quality, and outcomes, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with prison colleagues and partner agencies.
  • Contribute to service development and the achievement of key organisational objectives.
  • Champion Change Grow Live's values through your leadership and decision-making.

About You

We are particularly interested in hearing from:

  • Experienced Practitioners who are ready to progress into a leadership role.
  • Existing Team Leaders seeking a new challenge within a values-driven organisation.

You will ideally have:

  • Significant experience working within substance misuse, criminal justice, health, social care, or related services.
  • Experience supporting, mentoring, supervising, or leading staff teams.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to motivate others and drive positive performance.
  • A commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred services.
  • Experience of partnership working and stakeholder engagement.
  • Excellent organisational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • A genuine passion for supporting people to change, grow, and live healthier lives.
