Looking to take the next step in your leadership career? Join DP World as a Warehouse Team Leader in Burton upon Trent, where you'll lead and develop high-performing warehouse teams, drive operational excellence, and play a key role in delivering outstanding service for our customers.

Working pattern: Weekly rotation shifts: Week 1: 0600-1430hrs Week 2: 1400–2230hrs

About the Role:

As a Warehouse Team Leader, you will support the day-to-day management of our warehouse operation, ensuring productivity, quality, safety, and customer service standards are achieved. Leading a team of up to 30 colleagues, you will act as a key link between warehouse operatives and management, helping to create an engaged, high-performing, and safety-focused working environment. This role offers the opportunity to develop your people management skills while driving continuous improvement across the operation.

How you will contribute:

  • Lead, motivate, and support a team of warehouse operatives to achieve daily operational targets.
  • Organise workloads and allocate resources effectively to ensure productivity and service levels are maintained.
  • Conduct absence management activities, return-to-work meetings, investigations, and disciplinary processes in line with company procedures.
  • Monitor operational performance, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and on time.
  • Maintain high standards of health and safety, quality, and compliance throughout the warehouse operation.
  • Coach and develop team members on warehouse processes, procedures, and best practices.
  • Liaise with colleagues across multiple departments to ensure operational requirements are met.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, service, and team performance.
  • Deputise for the Supervisor when required, providing leadership and operational support.

What you will bring:

  • Previous experience leading or supervising teams within a warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment.
  • Strong people management experience, including performance management, absence management, and employee engagement.
  • Good understanding of health and safety legislation, quality standards, and warehouse operational processes.
  • Experience conducting investigations and supporting disciplinary processes.
  • Knowledge of warehouse management systems and confidence using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Strong organisational and workload planning skills with the ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships across teams and with customers.
  • A proactive approach to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
