Description

Enva Recycling Scotland is hiring two Team Managers for the Linwood Operations Team.

Based in Linwood, 45h a week, from 6am to 6pm.

In this role, you will be responsible for leading the day-to-day operational performance of your responsible area, ensuring that labour, plant, equipment and resources are effectively planned and deployed to meet operational priorities, customer requirements and business objectives.

A key purpose of the role is to promote a positive safety and continuous improvement culture within their responsible area, identifying risks, resolving operational issues, escalating critical matters appropriately and ensuring corrective actions are completed. The Team Manager plays a central role in delivering consistent operational performance while protecting people, the environment, assets and the reputation of the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all labour and resources are in place and take corrective action if required
• Agree operational priorities with the Operations Manager
• Report daily stock, process throughput and material movements to the Operations Manager
• Maintain direct contact with customers and material offtake partners by phone and email to coordinate collections, movements and service requirements
• Manage yard stock levels within the responsible area and arrange haulage requirements to support operational priorities and material offtake schedules
• Ensure work is carried out in accordance with safe systems of work at all times
• Coordinate plant maintenance requirements with Engineering, reporting critical defects to the Operations Manager and Lead Engineer and taking mitigating action where possible
• Conduct and document regular safety walkarounds and inspections within their responsible area
• Deliver or coordinate toolbox talks and safety briefings
• Investigate accidents, incidents and near-misses; ensure corrective actions are tracked to closure
• Own and monitor the permit-to-work system for high-risk tasks, including hot work, confined spaces and isolations
• Ensure PPE compliance and escalate non-conformance
• Coordinate inductions for new starters, agency staff and visitors working within their responsible area
• Maintain compliance with environmental permit conditions within their responsible area
• Manage housekeeping standards to prevent pollution incidents (drainage, bunding, stockpile management)
• Manage attendance, absence and timekeeping for the shift team
• Conduct Team Leader 1-2-1s/appraisals and identify training needs
• Plan and manage shift rotas, cover, and holiday/absence backfill
• Oversee onboarding and ongoing competency/training compliance for direct reports
• Support recruitment and management of agency/temporary labour
• Oversee daily plant and vehicle checks, ensuring PUWER compliance
• Liaise with Engineering on planned maintenance scheduling, not just defect reporting
• Manage fuel, consumables and minor stores to avoid operational downtime
