Employment Type: Full Time, Temporary 10 months with possibility of extension
Classification: Health Professional Level 4 / Psychologist Level 4 (PN 28407)
Note: This role will be filled at either Health Professional Level 4 or Psychologist Level 4 depending on qualifications and experience, in line with the Enterprise Agreement.
HP4 Salary: $127,597- $141,511 (Plus 12.5% Super)
P4 Salary: $135,771- $142,688 (Plus 12.5% Super)
Location: The Canberra Hospital, Garran ACT / Canberra City

About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key leadership role in shaping and delivering specialist alcohol and drug treatment services while supporting a skilled and dedicated clinical workforce.
Alcohol and Drug Services (ADS) is seeking an experienced clinician to lead the Counselling and Treatment Services team and support the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based alcohol and other drug treatment services for the ACT community.
ADS provides information, advice, referral, intake, assessment and treatment support to people experiencing substance use concerns. As Team Manager, you will provide clinical and operational leadership, professional supervision and strategic direction for a multidisciplinary team delivering specialised treatment services.

In this role, you will lead, manage and support the Counselling and Treatment Services team while providing clinical leadership, supervision and guidance to staff. You will oversee service planning, performance monitoring, reporting, evaluation and governance activities, manage financial, human and physical resources, and contribute to policy development, service improvement initiatives and strategic planning. You will also build and maintain effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to support health promotion and service delivery objectives and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
The successful applicant will have demonstrated experience delivering psychological and counselling interventions for people experiencing alcohol and other drug-related issues, together with strong knowledge of the Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) sector and contemporary treatment approaches. You will have a proven ability to lead and manage multidisciplinary teams in a complex healthcare environment, supported by excellent organisational, communication and stakeholder engagement skills. You will be adaptable, resilient and capable of thriving in a dynamic service environment, with strong critical thinking, analytical and reflective practice skills that support sound, evidence-based decision-making. The ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and integrity is essential.
