Beyond leading day-to-day operations, you will help shape our engineering organization, influence strategic decisions, and contribute to the long-term development of our people, processes, and technology roadmap.
This position offers a unique opportunity for an ambitious leader who is motivated to broaden their impact, grow their organizational influence, and develop broader leadership responsibilities in the future.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a high-performing software development team within an agile environment.

- Promote best practices in software development, including quality assurance, cybersecurity, maintainability, and sustainability.
- Drive the adoption of modern development approaches, tools, and AI-enabled engineering practices.
- Support strategic planning, resource management, and decision-making within the organization.
- Create a culture of ownership, accountability, collaboration, and execution excellence.
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience leading software development teams.
- At least 5 years of experience with direct reports.
- Conduct development and performance reviews.
- Set goals and follow up on results.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
