About the Team:

Transforming Support for Children and Families

We are building something different.

As part of the Families First Programme, our Family Help Service is bringing together skilled professionals who are passionate about achieving better outcomes for children, young people and families through earlier intervention, whole-family support and strong multi-agency working.

Family Help is at the heart of national reforms designed to ensure families receive the right support, at the right time, from the right people. Our approach focuses on building strengths, reducing duplication and creating meaningful change through trusted relationships.

We are seeking ambitious, creative and committed professionals to join our newly developed Family Help Team. Established as a ‘test and learn’ team, you will play a vital role in shaping and delivering a service that makes a lasting difference.

About the Role:

Lead Change. Inspire Practice. Improve Lives

We are looking for an experienced and motivated social work qualified Team Manager to lead our Family Help Team within the Families First Programme.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape a new way of working under a test and learn model, leading a team that delivers high-quality support to children, young people and families through coordinated, relationship-based practice.

About the Role

As Team Manager, you will:

  • Provide leadership, direction, supervision and support to a skilled Family Help Team
  • Drive high standards of practice and performance
  • Promote a strengths-based, family-centred approach
  • Ensure effective safeguarding and risk management
  • Build strong partnerships across children's services and partner agencies
  • Support service development and contribute to the successful implementation of Family Help reforms

About You

You will:

  • Be an experienced children's services social work professional
  • Have substantial leadership and management experience
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of safeguarding and family support practice
  • Be skilled in supervision, coaching and workforce development
  • Have the ability to drive improvement and inspire positive change
