Key Responsibilities
- Lead by example: Be the face of M&S’s service philosophy on the shop floor, embodying excellent customer care, operational excellence, and store presentation.
- Drive commercial success:
- Own departmental performance, availability, and commercial targets, using data-driven insights to optimise sales and profitability.
- Foster a multiskilled, motivated team that delivers exceptional service and):

Who We’re Looking For
Essential
- Extensive experience leading teams in fast-paced retail or customer-facing roles, with a track record of driving results.
- Strong commercial awareness: Ability to interpret performance data, spot opportunities, and implement insight-led strategies.
- Proven ability to coach, motivate, and manage performance—including difficult conversations with empathy.
- Resilience & adaptability: Stays calm under pressure, embraces change, and energises teams during transitions.
- Digital fluency: Adaptable to M&S’s new technologies and keen to upskill in digital tools for service and operations.

Desirable
- Experience in Fashion, Home, or Beauty retail, though all disciplines are welcomed.
- Background in people development or training programmes.
- Familiarity with retail technology (POS systems, e-commerce platforms, inventory tools).
