This is an exciting time to join Coventry's Community Mental Health Service. Following our recent successful Adults CQC inspection, we are continuing to invest in and strengthen our mental health services to ensure people receive high-quality, person-centred support when they need it most. An opportunity has arisen to join our Community Mental Health Teams in Coventry as a Team Manager.
About the Role
You will manage a Team of professionals who work with people living with a range of mental health challenges including psychosis, mood disorders, and self-harming behaviours. The diverse team is fully multi-disciplinary and work towards specific interventions embracing human rights, promoting independence, strength-based recovery practices, Safeguarding, The Care Act, Mental Health and Mental Capacity Acts.
You will be based at Swanswell Point and lead 2 Team Leaders, Approved Mental Health Professionals, Social Workers, and Community Case Managers. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing line management, professional supervision, reflective practice, and quality assurance.
- Being an Approved Mental Health Professional.
- Having managerial experience and the ability to work closely with our partner NHS agency, Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust, voluntary organisations, other statutory agencies, and with groups, communities, and individuals with lived experiences.
- Supporting your team to address the social determinants of mental ill health, including housing, debt management, substance misuse, and recovery-based activities supporting people on their ‘best life’ journeys.
- Working in partnership with people with lived experiences, co-producing, facilitating, and promoting independence.
- Helping deliver the principles of the Care Act 2014, The Mental Health Act, and Mental Capacity Act, and supporting strength-based practices within a least restrictive framework.
- Being part of a Senior Management Team across Mental Health and Adult Social Care services and helping develop quality assurance and a strategic vision.

Requirements
You will be keen to join the team and be passionate about making a difference. You should have the skills and experience we're looking for, including:
- Proven leadership and decision-making skills.
- Working and comprehensive knowledge of and application of MHA, MCA, The Care Act, and Children’s Act.
- The ability to recognise and investigate safeguarding concerns.
- A working knowledge of the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.
- Excellent risk assessment and management skills.
- Organisation, recording, and workload management skills.
- Diplomacy, negotiating, and listening skills.
- Ability to work in collaboration with people with lived experiences, carers, and colleagues.
