Warwickshire County Council,

About the Team:

Our Family Help Service continues to transform under the Families First Programme and the way we support children and families. Bringing together a diverse team of skilled professionals, we work across the continuum of need, from early help and child in need planning through to child protection, care proceedings, permanence planning, Special Guardianship Orders, and adoption.

We are now seeking an exceptional Team Manager to join Nuneaton & Bedworth Family Help Team (B) based at The Hilary Road Centre, Hilary Road, Nuneaton, CV10 9AD – Full time, 37 hrs per week working Monday – Thursday 9am till 5.30 & Friday 9am till 5pm

This is an exciting opportunity for a confident and ambitious leader who is passionate about making a difference to children's lives. You will lead a team of dedicated social workers and practitioners, driving high standards of practice, fostering a positive learning culture, and ensuring children receive timely, effective intervention that leads to lasting change.

As Team Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping practice quality and performance. Through reflective supervision, coaching, and visible leadership, you will support practitioners to make confident, evidence-based decisions that achieve the best possible outcomes for children and young people.

You will be responsible for maintaining strong performance across statutory responsibilities, ensuring plans progress without delay and that children experience permanence, stability, and safety at the earliest opportunity.

You will bring significant experience of working within child protection and court arenas, with a strong understanding of care proceedings, permanency planning, Special Guardianship, and adoption. Your ability to analyze risk, provide robust management oversight, and confidently contribute to legal planning and court processes will be essential.

We are looking for a leader who thrives on quality assurance and continuous improvement. You will utilize performance information, audit activity, and practice learning to drive excellence across the service, identifying strengths, addressing areas for development, and creating an environment where high-quality practice can flourish. You will champion restorative and relationship-based practice, ensuring that children's voices remain central to all decision-making and that families are supported to create sustainable change.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
