We have a fantastic opportunity available for an Occupational Therapy Team Manager to join our award-winning Adult Social Care team at Wokingham Borough Council, on a full time, permanent basis.

As our Occupational Therapy Team Manager, you'll lead a skilled and supportive team that helps people live as independently, safely and confidently as possible.

You'll provide day-to-day leadership, creating a positive and collaborative team culture where people feel valued, supported and empowered to do their best work. Working closely with colleagues across Adult Social Care, health services and community organisations, you'll build strong partnerships that put residents at the heart of everything we do.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire a dedicated Occupational Therapy team, creating a positive culture where people feel supported, valued and able to do their best work.
  • Oversee the day-to-day delivery of the service, ensuring high-quality support, effective workload management and strong performance.
  • Provide supervision, coaching and development opportunities to help your team grow their skills, knowledge and confidence.
  • Build strong partnerships with health colleagues, community organisations and other stakeholders to deliver joined-up support for residents.
  • Promote strengths-based practice that helps people remain independent, safe and connected to their communities.
  • Ensure services are delivered in line with legislation, safeguarding responsibilities, professional standards and Council policies.
  • Support service improvement and innovation, identifying opportunities to enhance outcomes, quality and efficiency.
  • Work closely with senior leaders to help shape and develop Occupational Therapy services across Adult Social Care.

Candidate Requirements

  • Must have Occupational Therapy Qualification and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Minimum of three years post qualification experience
  • Knowledge of legislation, regulation, rules and guidance relating to the health and social care of adults, including, but not limited to in Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, NHS Continuing Healthcare, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards
  • Strong assessment and analytical skills
  • Demonstrable ability to lead, motivate, supervise and performance manage staff
