West Lancashire Adult Disability Day Service – Skelmersdale

This is a permanent full-time management opportunity to cover a vacancy within West Lancashire Adult Disability Day Service in Skelmersdale.
Hours of work: Working 5 days a week Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 4.30pm and 9.30am to 5.30pm with a 40 minute break each day.
The role will involve being part of a management team, who will lead and manage a staff team to support adults with disabilities in a day service setting in the Skelmersdale area of Lancashire.
You will work directly alongside your management colleagues and the staff team, to ensure people who use the service receive safe and effective supports daily to achieve outcomes.
The successful applicant will possess strong positive values and principles in their approach to working with people with a disability and will have passion and enthusiasm for making a difference.
In return Lancashire County Council offers a range of benefits, including, a generous annual leave allowance starting at 26 days and rising to 32 days after 5 years of service. Additionally, 8 Bank Holidays and 2 additional statutory days.

From commencing in post, you will be supported through a comprehensive induction programme and mandatory training. The Adult Disability Service also promotes career development opportunities with various qualifications and training on offer – including QCF level 5 qualification (Equivalent to NVQ Level 4). Local Government Reorganisation
The Government has confirmed that local government across Lancashire will be reorganised, with the current 15 councils being replaced by four new unitary councils covering North, South, East and West Lancashire from April 2028.
If you are successful in your application, you will initially join Lancashire County Council. However, as part of the planned transition, your employment will transfer to one of the new unitary councils from April 2028, subject to the implementation of the reorganisation and relevant employment legislation.
