Company Description
12th Aylesbury (1st Kingsbrook) Scout Group supports young people aged 6–14 to gain Skills for Life through adventure, teamwork, and community engagement. The group delivers an inclusive programme that builds confidence, resilience, leadership, and practical life skills. Activities include outdoor challenges, camping, volunteering, and personal development experiences designed to be fun and rewarding. The environment is safe, supportive, and inspiring, with a strong focus on empowering the next generation and fostering a positive community spirit.
Role Description
As a Team Member at 12th Aylesbury Scout Group, you will help plan and deliver weekly section meetings and activities for young people aged 6–14. You will support outdoor adventures, camps, and community projects, ensuring all activities are inclusive, safe, and age-appropriate. The role involves working closely with other volunteers to prepare materials, set up and pack away equipment, supervise participants, and encourage positive behavior and teamwork. You will communicate with parents and carers as needed, follow safeguarding and health and safety guidelines, and contribute ideas to improve the programme. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Broughton, requiring regular evening and occasional weekend commitments.

- Ability to support and engage children and young people in group activities, with strong interpersonal and mentoring skills.
- Organizational skills to plan sessions, coordinate resources, and assist in the delivery of outdoor activities and events.
- Teamwork and collaboration skills to work effectively with other leaders, volunteers, and the wider Scout community.
- Clear communication skills for interacting with young people, parents, carers, and fellow team members.
- Commitment to safeguarding, health and safety, and creating an inclusive, non-discriminatory environment.
- Reliability, flexibility, and a positive attitude toward learning new skills and supporting group needs.
- Interest in youth work, education, or community volunteering; previous experience in any of these areas is an advantage.
- Willingness to complete Scout Association training and undergo necessary background and reference checks.
