Tech Lead – Data Platform
12-month contract | Fully Remote
We are working with an early-stage technology company building a data-intensive B2B SaaS product for enterprise customers. The platform combines large-scale data pipelines, analytical and modelling capabilities, and a modern web application. The engineering team is small, highly technical, and moving quickly as the product scales.
We are looking for a hands-on Tech Lead to take ownership of the technical direction, architecture, and engineering delivery across the platform.
What you'll do
- Own the technical architecture across data, backend, and product.
- Lead a small engineering team across delivery, priorities, and technical direction.
- Translate product requirements into practical technical plans.
- Remain hands-on, writing and reviewing production code.
- Establish strong engineering practices around testing, releases, observability, and security.
- Work with enterprise customers on technical and security requirements.
- Help shape the product and technology roadmap.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
