Technical Lead
Manchester (Hybrid)
£80,000 DOE
Are you a hands-on Technical Lead with a passion for building and scaling mission-critical SaaS platforms? We're looking for an experienced engineering leader to take ownership of a Scrum team delivering a cloud-based customer engagement platform, combining technical leadership, architecture oversight, and hands-on development.
This is an opportunity to join a growing technology business where engineering excellence, platform reliability, and AI-enabled software delivery are key strategic priorities. You'll work closely with Product and Platform teams to shape technical direction, modernise systems, and deliver high-quality solutions that make a measurable impact for customers.

Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for a Scrum team, owning sprint delivery, quality, and outcomes.
- Partner with Product teams to shape requirements, manage technical risk, and ensure predictable delivery.
- Design, build, and evolve backend services and APIs using C# and.NET.
- Support frontend development and technology modernisation initiatives using Vue.js and related frameworks.
- Lead production readiness, incident response, root cause analysis, and reliability improvements.
- Drive adoption of AI-assisted development practices, standards, and workflow optimisation.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, pairing, and technical coaching.
- Champion testing, observability, security, and operational excellence.
Requirements
- Strong experience as a Senior Engineer or Technical Lead within Agile Scrum environments.
- Proven hands-on expertise with C# and.NET (6-8) and modern frontend frameworks.
- Track record of leading teams through complex technical delivery and transformation initiatives.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across engineering and product functions.
- Experience with software quality practices, testing strategies, and production-ready delivery.
- Background supporting business-critical systems with a focus on reliability, security, and observability.
- Experience using AI developer tools responsibly and effectively within software engineering workflows.

Desirable Experience
- Experience working on SaaS platforms in live customer-facing environments.
- Knowledge of Docker, containerisation, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Exposure to Azure, AWS, monitoring, and cloud operations tooling.
- Experience with AI-enabled systems, platform modernisation, real-time communications, or customer engagement technologies.

Salary: £80,000 DOE
