Frontend & Security Architect, 1inch dApp
About the Role

You’ll shape the future of 1inch’s web dApp with hands-on technical leadership. This role focuses on frontend architecture, security, and innovation:
- Design and engineer critical, production-grade components for smart contract interactions and high-volume Web3 transactions.
- Merge speed, scalability, and impeccable security in deliverables that set the industry standard.
- Work closely with wallet providers, blockchain APIs, and backend teams to develop secure, performant integration flows.

Key Responsibilities
Architectural & Technical Leadership
- Own the frontend architecture of 1inch’s web dApp, with a security-first mindset.
- Define and uphold engineering standards for performance, reliability, and long-term maintainability.
- Leverage AI-assisted tools to accelerate development while ensuring rigorous quality and security.
Development & Delivery
- Build high-impact production code targeting wallet interactions, multi-chain swaps, transaction lifecycle management, and approvals.
- Collaborate with blockchain experts to optimize gas efficiency, peer review variables, and fail-safe recovery paths.

Security & Quality Rigour
- Enforce secure-by-design principles, including threat modeling and risk mitigation in production systems.
- Lead implementation of global security audits, key management practices, and low-latency risk checks for user funds.
Team Growth & Product Innovation
- Mentor frontend engineers through technical guidance, code reviews, hiring pipelines, and onboarding curricula.
- Partner with backend, mobile, analytics, and design teams to align on scalable solutions and feature prioritization.
- Advocate for cross-platform innovations that advance DeFi usability while preserving systemic trust.
Requirements
Proven Delivery in Senior Frontend Roles
- 6+ years of hands-on experience in frontend or full-stack development, including explicit ownership in high-profile or open-source projects.
- Deep expertise in TypeScript (essential) and Angular (including complex, production-grade applications).
Web3 & Performance Expertise
- Comprehensive integration architecture (REST + Web3 APIs, including ethers.js, viem, or web3.js).
- Experience with wallet provider SDKs, signature flows, and multi-chain user journeys (e.g., Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism).
- Ability to optimize dApp performance for low transaction latency while reducing unnecessary API calls.
Secure Engineering Practice
- Hands-on experience in secure development lifecycle (SDL) and threat modeling for crypto assets.
- Wallet request security (e.g., angry wallet checks, replay protection, tx signature validation); experience in OTP-based recovery mechanisms.
- Best practices for CI/CD, in-line with collaborative review processes and maintainability benchmarks.

Leadership & Collaboration
- Strong reputation for improving engineering culture, evidenced by engineering excellence cases or community involvement in security discussions.
- Extensible communication—working effectively with both tech-stakeholders (e.g., auditors, wallet developers) and non-technical decision makers.
- Track record of reducing technical debt with a focus on testability, refactoring, and scalable architectures.
Nice-to-Haves
Technical Depth
- Nx monorepo or Angular SSR implementation experience for server-centric workflows.
- Proficiency with product analytics integration (e.g., Mixpanel, Amplitude) for feature optimization.
- Exposure to AI-powered testing, e.g., eoretial and automated vulnerability detection tools.
