Tech Lead - Game Framework

Push Gaming is a dynamic and innovative game development studio specialising in creating top-quality, mobile-optimised online casino games. With a passion for gaming and a commitment to pushing boundaries, we are dedicated to delivering exceptional experiences to players worldwide.

About the Role

Every slot game we ship is built on a shared client framework: the rendering engine, the slot mechanics and templates, the player panel, the build tooling. We are turning that framework into a real internal product - versioned packages, clear contracts, proper documentation - so that a fix lands once and reaches every game, and a new game can start from a template instead of from scratch.

We are looking for a Tech Lead to own the technical direction of this framework. You will be the senior engineer on a small, focused team (currently two developers plus you), reporting directly to the Head of Game Development. This is a hands-on role: you'll spend most of your time in the code, with the rest on architecture decisions, reviews, and mentoring. There is no line management - the Head of Game Development does the 1:1s and growth plans.

Location: Hybrid in London or Warsaw

What You Will Do

  • Set and document the technical direction of the framework - the engine, shared slot mechanics and templates, the player panel, developer tooling and CI checks.
  • Design and evolve shared packages that several game teams depend on: backwards compatible by default, with clear deprecation paths and migration notes when something has to change.
  • Build the tooling that lets us produce game variants and reskins from a common base, fast and safely.
  • Own the code review bar for the framework and mentor the developers around you - through reviews, pairing and design discussions.
  • Be the framework's technical contact for the game teams who use it and for the server-side engineers.
  • Give honest estimates and risk assessments; call out technical debt and propose how to sequence it.
  • Write things down: decisions, standards, package READMEs - documentation is part of done.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What We Are Looking For

  • Expert experience with TypeScript and a PixiJS-class rendering engine (PixiJS v8 is our stack).
  • Slot or iGaming client development: server-authoritative outcomes, RTP variants, certification constraints.
  • Experience building and maintaining shared libraries, SDKs or engines used by multiple teams - API design, versioning, backward compatibility.
  • A track record of shipping complex commercial games and solving hard technical problems.
  • Strong debugging, profiling and performance work across devices.
  • You can drive technical decisions with people who do not report to you.
  • Typically 5+ years in game client development, including time in a senior technical role.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with build pipelines and CI (GitHub Actions).
  • Experience with automated testing of game clients (unit, integration or visual regression tests).
  • Experience with monorepos or multi-package setups (npm workspaces, Lerna, Turborepo, Nx or similar).
  • Experience with AI-assisted development tools in day-to-day work.

What Success Looks Like After Six Months

The framework's technical direction is documented and followed. Shared packages ship versioned, documented, and tested. Breaking changes come with migration notes. Game teams build on the framework instead of around it.
