I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About You
- You have a strong technical mindset and are comfortable working through complex problems, often in environments where there may not be an obvious answer.
- You’re confident working with data and analytical tools such as Excel, with the ability to interpret findings and turn them into practical recommendations.
- You’re a clear communicator who can translate technical information for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- You’re organised, proactive and comfortable taking ownership of projects, managing multiple priorities and working across different teams.
- An interest in drones, aviation, robotics, autonomous systems or emerging technologies would be highly beneficial.
- Experience working with GIS, LiDAR, geospatial data or tools such as QGIS would be a strong nice-to-have, but is not essential.
- We’re particularly interested in people who are curious, adaptable and keen to learn. You don’t need to have worked in the drone industry before — we’re looking for someone with the technical aptitude and mindset to develop quickly in the role.
