Oliver Wyman – Tech Services - Associate & Engagement Manager

WHO WE ARE

Oliver Wyman is a global management consulting firm. We work with clients through their most defining moments, combining deep industry knowledge, specialized expertise, and the power of perspective to help them adapt, grow, and thrive.

We believe diverse perspectives make the work stronger. Our consultants bring different backgrounds, experiences, and ways of thinking to help solve complex problems and create lasting impact for clients, colleagues, and communities.

At Oliver Wyman, we are proud of the values that we aspire to live by. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive and reach their full potential.

THE PRACTICE

The Tech Services team within the (Consumer, Telco & Technology) practice helps industry leaders in the technology/software and private equity industries develop value growth strategies, improve operations, and maximize organizational effectiveness.

Our Tech Services clients are some of the world's most successful companies: wireless and wireline equipment and communications service providers; enterprise IT, consumer electronics, and semiconductor companies; broadcasters, publishers, platform operators, online and entertainment companies; high tech; and software companies. We work collaboratively with our clients’ leaders, employees, stakeholders, and customers to jointly define, design, and achieve lasting results.

We are now looking for outstanding professionals with expertise in the Tech Services sector to join our dynamic and vibrant team in this space. This is your opportunity for a rewarding, long-term career within a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment —where your impact will be valued and your professional growth actively supported.

THE ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Associates: will effectively break down complex problems into discrete tasks, identifying the key aspects of a problem and directing the focus of junior consultants to those elements. You will plan and execute analysis as well as identify the core issues in complex analyses in order to be able to craft suitable recommendations, and work side by side with clients and your project team members to move projects forward and manage small teams to get the work done. Clients and colleagues will look to you for unique insight into the subject area which they have chosen.

Engagement Managers are the on-scene leaders who run our projects day to day. You will lead the team through an efficient and effective problem-solving process from initial hypothesis based on deep industry and function know-how through convergence on a solution. You will ensure that recommendations are bold, practical, relevant, and cohesive. It’s a role that demands thought leadership at the strategic level – and command of project leadership and stakeholder management capabilities. You will need great communication skills and the ability to forge strong relationships.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
