Glenrands Jaguar & Land Rover is an authorised Jaguar Land Rover service centre focused on delivering a higher standard of client care, technical expertise, and ownership experience for Jaguar, Land Rover, and Range Rover drivers. Established in 2020 during the second COVID-19 lockdown, the company was founded to challenge the traditional dealership model with a more personal, transparent, and service-driven approach. Based in Portsmouth, Glenrands supports clients across Hampshire, Surrey, Berkshire, West Sussex, and Greater London. The team combines manufacturer-level technical capability with the attention to detail of an independent specialist, offering a professional yet approachable environment for both clients and staff.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Technician role located at the Glenrands Jaguar & Land Rover service centre in Portsmouth. The Technician will carry out diagnostics, servicing, and repairs on Jaguar, Land Rover, and Range Rover vehicles in line with manufacturer standards and internal quality procedures. - Using diagnostic tools and software
- Completing mechanical and electrical fault-finding
- Performing scheduled maintenance
- Preparing accurate service and repair documentation
The role also involves:
- Collaborating with service advisors
- Maintaining a clean and safe workshop
- Clearly communicating technical findings and recommendations to the wider team
Technicians are expected to follow health and safety guidelines, uphold high standards of workmanship, and contribute to a transparent and customer-focused service experience.
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical and electrical vehicle maintenance skills, including diagnostics, fault-finding, and repair of modern automotive systems.
- Experience working with manufacturer-specific tools, diagnostic software, and service procedures, ideally within premium or specialist brands.
- Solid understanding of vehicle safety standards, workshop best practices, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, service manuals, and wiring diagrams with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with service advisors and other technicians in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant automotive technician qualification or apprenticeship (e.g., NVQ/City & Guilds or equivalent); Jaguar Land Rover experience or certifications are an advantage.
- Proven track record in delivering high-quality workmanship and maintaining a professional, client-focused attitude.
- Full UK driving licence and eligibility to work in the UK.
