Responsibilities
As a Maintenance Technician (focusing on mechanical systems), your responsibilities will include:
- Being part of a team working on planned activities for Dŵr Cymru assets, such as improvement projects and preventive maintenance, as well as responding to failures throughout the area.
- Investigating the nature of machinery failures and conducting planned and organized maintenance on all equipment related to Dŵr Cymru asset base to reduce machinery failures.
- Performing similar installations, renewals, and assisting with commissioning equipment according to specifications, on time, and in compliance with company procedures.
- Conducting an examination of spare parts and materials needed to complete work effectively, ordering necessary items through your supervisor or directly from the supplier.
- Following company health and safety procedures - being responsible for your own health and safety and having a duty of care for your colleagues and anyone affected by the work you do.
- Dealing with sometimes difficult situations in a friendly, positive, and professional manner, striving for a quick resolution.
- Updating information in various IT systems daily.
- Engaging with external contractors regarding major capital plans, ensuring they are completed effectively and efficiently and fully comply with Health and Safety and company procedures.
- Managing your own time, handling routine work with very little supervision.
- Undertaking any other duties as required to meet business needs.
- Recognized apprenticeship in mechanical/electrical engineering or dual awarded with NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent City & Guilds qualification
- Full driving license
- Experience of working in a team
- Experience of analyzing information to identify possible problems
- Practical experience gained in industry to support your apprenticeship and ensure full compliance and adherence to all Health and Safety procedures
- Good communication skills, listening, and responding appropriately to resolve problems
- Ability to create and maintain good networks with internal departments
- Ability to work to tight deadlines, sometimes in difficult circumstances
- Awareness of regulatory bodies such as the Drinking Water Inspectorate (DWI) and Natural Resources Wales (NRW)
- Ability to use Microsoft software packages and other operating systems

What You'll Get
The successful candidate will participate in an on-call rotation (1 week out of every 6 weeks) and also take part in 260 hours of planned work time. Company car provided
