Technical Academy
Location: Cardiff (Office-based, 5 days a week)
Starting Salary: £26,225 - £29,000 DOE + up to £3,000 annual bonus
Are you technically minded, curious, and looking to build a long-term career in technology?
Join our Technical Academy and develop the practical skills, knowledge, and experience needed to progress into a specialist technical career within our growing technology business.
You might already know that you want to become a Software Developer, Data Engineer, or Project Manager. Alternatively, you might know that technology is the right career for you but want the opportunity to experience different disciplines before choosing your direction.
Our Academy is designed to give you both.
What you'll do
You'll initially join our Technical Support Team, giving you a strong understanding of our technology, products, customers, and the way our different technical teams work together.
During this initial period, you'll:
- Help resolve customer technical queries and issues
- Learn to manage and prioritise work against Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Build knowledge across our software, systems, products, and services
- Work with technical and development colleagues to investigate and resolve live issues
- Develop your problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills
From around 3-6 months, we'll begin introducing rotations and development opportunities across areas including:
- Software Development
- Data Engineering
- IT Project Management
- Product Design
- Business Analysis
- IT & Infrastructure Engineering
As you progress through the Academy, these may develop into longer secondments and, typically within 6-12 months, opportunities to move into a permanent role aligned with your strengths, interests, and available opportunities.
You may also decide that Technical Support is where you want to build your career, with progression available through our Technical Support Engineer salary grades and towards Senior Technical Support Engineer roles.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
